Privacy policy

Last updated 18 August 2026. Water Haul (“we”) operates Water Haul at waterhaul.ca. This notice is for a product that is still in development. Have a lawyer review it before you rely on it as a customer contract.

Who we are

Water Haul is software for Canadian water haulers: dispatch, tickets, tank readers, and invoicing. Questions: info@waterhaul.ca.

What we collect

Waitlist. Name, company, phone, and email when you join the waitlist. We only send marketing email if you check the CASL consent box.
Contact form. Email, company, and the message you send. We use that to reply. A contact message does not add you to the waitlist.
Fleet accounts. Work emails and passwords for dispatchers, bookkeepers, and drivers. Driver names, licence numbers, and employee/unit numbers are stored for the fleet that employs them — not for public pages.
Customer sites. Site name, address, tank readings, tickets, and invoices. Optional tank-reader serials and fill levels.
Payments. Invoice checkout goes through Stripe. We do not store card numbers, CVVs, or expiry dates.
Accounting exports. If a fleet connects QuickBooks Online or downloads Sage 50 CSV, invoice line items leave our system under that fleet’s credentials.
Usage analytics. When a Google Analytics 4 measurement ID is configured, we load GA4 on matching hosts. The production marketing site (waterhaul.ca) and the preview site (local or CloudFront) use separate streams. We send page paths only. We do not send names, emails, licence numbers, or login tokens. Google advertising signals are off. Until the ID for that host is set, no Google Analytics script runs.

What we do not do

We do not sell personal information.
We do not put driver names, licence numbers, or emails in server logs. Logs use ticket numbers and UUIDs.
We do not use advertising or remarketing cookies. Fleet login uses an httpOnly session cookie on the app host only. If GA4 is on, Google may set its own analytics cookies for page metrics.

PIPEDA

We handle personal information for the purposes above: running the waitlist, answering contact-form questions, providing the product, billing, and legal compliance. You may ask to see or correct information we hold, or to withdraw waitlist consent, by emailing info@waterhaul.ca. We keep waitlist and contact-form records until you ask us to delete them or until we shut those inboxes down, then we delete or anonymize them.

Where data lives

Application data is stored in Canada when we host in ca-central-1 (AWS) and a Canadian Postgres provider. Stripe, QuickBooks, tank-reader vendors, and Google Analytics (when configured) may process data in other countries under their terms.

Your choices

Email info@waterhaul.ca to unsubscribe from waitlist mail, request a copy, or ask us to delete waitlist details. Fleet customers should ask their hauler for ticket and invoice records.
